Donato's New Book

Compassionate leaders are not weak. They are tough leaders who understand that they can be good to their people and deliver stronger results. In fact, taking care of your people actually leads to better results. In his new book, Donato Tramuto―recognized CEO, business leader, innovator, and philanthropist,―makes the case that compassion is a key leadership principle

The TramutoPorter Foundation

Hearing human need. This isn’t just what we do. We believe it’s our duty as citizens of the world. Attuned to people and the challenges they face, be it here in Maine, or across oceans, our goal is to make resources available to individuals and communities in need through collaborative partnerships.

Health eVillages

Health eVillages collaborates to advance health care access and improve the quality of care by providing state-of-the-art mobile health technology including medical reference and clinical decision support tools, as well as other community-focused resources, to medical and public health professionals serving the most vulnerable populations around the world.

PERSONAL MISSION

My personal mission, and the vision of the Tramuto Foundation, is to make the world more compassionate and kind. We do this by taking the time to deeply hear the stories of those in need and attuning our attention to the challenges one is facing by moving from empathy to action.

Robert F. Kennedy often used this quote from French philosopher Albert Camus, “We live in a world where children go hungry. Our job is to lessen the number of children who are hungry.” This has inspired my view that we live in a world where many individuals are incompassionate, perhaps we can lessen the number of those incompassionate individuals. We live in a world that is starved for compassion, let us each do our part by sharing our compassion with the world, one person at a time.

I’m committed to the goal of creating a more compassionate, just and fair world. Though I’ve worked for decades on this, my work is just beginning. In the coming months and years, I will continue to support causes and compassionate organizations through my foundations. I will also be launching new initiatives and events that will be move this mission of compassion forward, with empathy and action. I hope you’ll join me!

Every day,
we can all
take small steps towards leading with compassion.

Throughout the course of my life, it has never been about doing something great; rather, it has been about doing little things that have the capacity to drive great change. It has been about serving as the conduit to bring people together from all walks of life, working collaboratively with the notion that it makes no difference how much you give. What makes the difference is that you gave. It makes no difference how much you do. What makes the difference is you did something.
